We are really lucky that we will start this topic off by going on our class trip to the Army Flying Museum on Wednesday 23rd April. Our PE days remain on Tuesday and Friday - please come into school in PE kit on both those days. Our new Christian Value this term is Community and our Big Idea is Worldly.
Have a look at our curriculum page for more information about what we are learning this term. We will update this page with information and photos about our learning throughout the term.

How many facts can you remember from our Egyptians topic in Term 1? Our PE days remain on Tuesday and Friday - please come into school in PE kit on both of those days. This term we have introduced Vision and Values Finders to our class. How many people can you see following our School Vision 'Let all you do be done with love'? Our Christian Value for this term is forgiveness and our Big Idea is creative.
Have a look at our curriculum page for more information about what we are learning this term. We will update this page with information and photos about our learning throughout the term.
Creative Day
On Wednesday Fox Class enjoyed participating in Creative Day. Throughout the day they were able to explore the idea 'God's light through Art.' This involved sketching self-portraits, recreating pictures inspired by the parable of the mustard seed using watercolours and other activities throughout the day.
World Book Day
This year our theme for World Book Day was Traditional Tales , Myths and Legends. We had an amazing turnout of costumes in Fox Class. During the afternoon, Fox Class shared stories with the Hedgehog class using props that they had made themselves.

Term 3
Hello and welcome back to Term 3! We hope you have all had a really lovely Christmas and would like to wish you all a very Happy New Year! This term we will be focusing on our Resourceful Big Idea. Our history topic this term is Disease and Medicine. This is always a really fascinating topic and sometimes a bit gruesome! Our PE days remain on Tuesday and Friday - please come into school in PE kit on both of those days.
Have a look at our curriculum page for more information about what we are learning this term. We will update this page with photos of our learning throughout the term.
Resourceful Day
The focus for Resourceful Day was Resilience. Fox class had the privilege of taking part in a workshop with 'The Problem Solving Company'. They had to complete a number of challenges that tested their teamwork and communication skills. One challenge had to be completed in silence with only non-verbal communication allowed. It is safe to say we all had a fantastic time. Other parts of the day included decorating their own 'Resilience Rock', doing puzzles and learning about the man behind the book 'The boy who harnessed the wind,' before making their very own Wind Turbines.
Indoor PE - Fitness
In our indoor PE this term we have been working on our fitness. Each week we have learnt different fitness activities including lunges, hops, jumps, balance, jogging and many more. We have been doing each activity for 30 seconds, recording our score and then trying to beat our personal best. We have all worked at our own pace and ability and have enjoyed challenging ourselves to be the best that we can be. Well done Fox class you have really shown our Christian value of perseverance this term in our PE lessons. Why don't you try and beat your score at home this half term holiday?
RE
In RE this term we have been studying the world religion, Hinduism. The children have enjoyed learning about the Hindu belief of karma and the idea of reincarnation. We have had lots of brilliant debates around whether it is important to be rewarded for our good actions and given consequences for our wrong choices. We enjoyed playing snakes and ladders to represent this idea of karma and trying to reach the ultimate goal of Moksha (being one with God).
History
This term, Fox Class have been exploring the topic of Medicine and Disease. This week they have been learning about people who made extraordinary medical advancements in the Victorian Era. Using the internet and other sources, they exercised their research skills in order to create a fact file on one of these five notable people.
Art
Fox class have been learning about who Georges Seurat was and exploring his style of art, Pointillism. This week they have had a go at creating their own paintings in this style.
'The Last Bear'
Our class text in term 3 is 'The Last Bear', which we are really looking forward to sharing with the children. Maybe you could see if you could find it in your local library.
Term 2
Hello and welcome back to one of our favourite terms as it leads up to Christmas! This term we will focusing on our Spiritual Big Idea. We all lead such busy lives, I wonder whether we ever get a chance to just sit and reflect on ourselves as us as spiritual beings? What does spirituality mean to you? Our geography topic this term is Europe and our PE days are still Tuesday and Friday - please come into school in PE kit on both of those days.
Have a look at our curriculum page for more information about what we are learning this term. We will update this page with photos of our learning throughout the term.
Spiritual Day 2024
On Spiritual Day this year we spent time looking at our school vision "Let everything you do be done with love" and also our school motto: learn, achieve, grow together. We designed our own posters which linked the two together. We each made our own Advent promise, something we wanted to do that would help others in the run up to Christmas day. We also thought about our own spirituality and answered the question: what makes your soul sing?
Computing
In computing, Fox Class have been using their creativity to draw and manipulate shapes in Microsoft Word.
Geography
This week, Fox Class have been learning about European countries and what makes each one unique. They used an atlas to identify and label every country in Europe.
Egyptian Dancing
This week, Fox Class have had a lot of fun learning some Egyptian dance moves during their indoor PE lesson.
Term 1
Welcome back! We hope you have all had a lovely summer holiday and are ready and refreshed for a fun and busy term ahead. This term we are developing our Skilful Big Idea. Our history topic is Ancient Egypt and our PE days are Tuesday and Friday – please come in in PE kit on both of those days.
Check out our curriculum page for more information about the learning we are doing this term. We will update this page with photos of what we have been learning in class.
Skilful Day
This week Fox Class participated in Skilful Day. Our day was split into five different skills: problem-solving, listening games, personal hygiene, forest school and using technology. We really enjoyed starting off the day getting into groups and playing our favourite board games including Twister, Monopoly and Frustration. We had fun using our listening skills to create crazy alien pictures, discussed the importance of daily washing and brushing of teeth and learnt about the advantages and disadvantages of AI. Our favourite part of the day was when we all got into groups and built dens out of sticks and tarpaulin.
Sponsored Run
This term along with the rest of the school we took part in a sponsored run to help raise funds for our forest school and outdoor learning. We all ran around the playground for 20 minutes and learnt the importance of starting off slow and having several breaks for water. We were all so proud of ourselves when the final whistle went and we got to do our stretches and have a rest. At the end of the week we joined the other classes in the medal ceremony where we all got a medal for taking part. What a great challenge!
Egyptian Art
We have all loved our History topic of Ancient Egypt this term and have enjoyed doing different types of Egyptian art too. We researched into cartouches which are oval frames which surround hieroglyphs that make up the name of an Egyptian God or royal person. We all designed our own on paper and then made them out of clay.
First Few Weeks Back!
We have had a fantastic first few weeks back to school. Everyone has settled in really well to Fox class and we have all become a wonderful class family. We have enjoyed starting our football and gymnastic lessons in PE. Mrs Bales was particularly impressed by the different balances and ways of travelling shown in Gym this week. In PSHE we have spoken about what makes a good team and we have also had lots of great discussions about friendship as that is this term's Christian value. Our new history topic of Ancient Egypt has been a big hit especially when we learnt all about the slightly gruesome mummification process! Can you remember how to write your name in hieroglyphics? Mrs Bales and Mrs Frazer have been so impressed with how Fox class has been living out our school vision of "Let everything you do be done with love" and also how everyone has been following our school rules of Ready, Respectful and Safe. It is due to this that Fox class have already filled up their marble jar and earned 100 marbles, definitely a record for the class to do this so close to the start of term! Well done Fox class we look forward to celebrating with some time doing games outside next week!
